Boat Basin Foundation

Boat Basin Foundation was federally incorporated in 1998 as a registered charitable organization with the objectives to maintain Cougar Annie's Garden for future generations and to encourage interest and education in natural history. The Foundation owns the 117-acre property that hosts the five-acre Cougar Annie's Garden.

This wilderness property is located alongside Hesquiat Harbour at the northern reaches of Clayoquot Sound on the West Coast of Vancouver Island. Access to the property is via floatplane from Tofino; 52 kilometres (32 miles) to the southeast.

The property is central to the largest and densest temperate rainforest of the world.

The extensive forest trail network on the property and the adjoining foreshore provide access to numerous ecological units. Boat Basin Foundation constructed the Temperate Rainforest Field Study Centre as a retreat for groups interested in utilizing this access for the study and appreciation of the area's extensive natural and cultural history.
